After a damp and chilly June, summer has finally decided to show its face. As if on cue, July 1st was a beautiful day and we're off and running into hot and humid weather. Captain Joe's Cruises has seen a steady increase in traffic and the wildlife hasn't disappointed our cruisers.
Activity on the river is great! The striped bass are here in numbers, the mackerel are already being caught around the islands, and the pogies are schooling up again in Saco Bay.
All that fish has invited in some new seal pups up river! We spotted 2 pups and a momma seal keeping an eye on them just up river from the marina on Tuesday morning. Needless to say, no one was catching any fish, but the seals seemed quite happy!
